Landowner Information

Every year damage to our pipelines is either sustained or narrowly avoided by works carried out by Landowners, tenants and their contractors.

Our pipelines carry extremely volatile products at high pressure and damaging one could result in severe environmental damage and possible loss of life!

Always contact the pipeline operator prior to planning or undertaking any works within 50 metres of our pipelines. Contact can be made directly with the operator via telephone (if known) or by visiting Linesearchbeforeudig (LSBUD) - www.linesearchbeforeudig.co.uk – to identify the operator in your work area.

Once identified, you should contact the pipeline operator and make arrangements for one of their representatives to meet on-site and locate the route of the pipeline through your work area. Once located the pipeline representative will discuss the safest way of undertaking the works around the pipeline and stay on-site if required.

Below is a list of typical activities that may require approval. This is not an exhaustive list of works so contact with the Pipeline operator should always be made prior to works beginning.

  • New or Replacement Fencing
  • Ditch clearance
  • Excavation activities
  • Subsoiling
